ninemoons42 asked: Liza Dalby's pretty ace when it comes to writing about geisha - her experiences were Pontocho-centered, instead of Gion Kobu, but she's still got many of the details of the dress and the mindset down. I recommend her anthropological text "Geisha" and, although the subject matter is different, her novel "The Tale of Murasaki".
